The Dragon’s Path Read Along Part III

I am still behind. Yes, I know, this is unheard of in the history of Dab of Darkness. We’re still recovering from the flood (additional rains have lead to more mopping and sodden towels), the irrigation ditch was dug out with a track hoe this week (so it’s like a real ditch again), and family is coming this weekend to help put fencing back up. There’s other life shit going on too, but I won’t bore you with that, because quite frankly, we are here to chat about books.

Apparently I wasn’t the only one who was behind on Week 3’s reading, so the posting of questions was put off until July 31st. Carl from Stainless Steel Droppings posted the questions on Goodreads and folks are welcome to join the read along or pop in and out as they like, because Carl be cool like that.

Not only am I behind, I am way behind. I just finished Week 2’s reading last night. Yep. Anyhoo, this book has taken some awesome twists and turns with characters and plot. It’s become super intense for me and if my eyelids had not been falling down of their own accord last night, I would have been well into Week 3’s reading. Geder has been a surprise. I’m totally rooting for Wester and his Tralgu buddy. I am hoping Cithrin develops more. Body guard and lesser character Vincen Coe is fascinating and I hope he gets more page time. I’m loving the world building and the politics. Overall, I am very glad I did not by pass this read along.

    1. I hope to be caught up soon-ish. Life is way busy right now but I am quite enjoying this book. Plus, I want to be able to say to Daniel Abraham at Bubonicon – Oh, I read this book of yours, thought it was grand, do you mind signing it? Instead of, er…. I made it half way thru and life kept me too busy to finish it.

  1. Aw, I’ve been so behind. To be honest I’ve not been reading as much but I don’t understand why! I’ve caught up with week 3 but haven’t started week 4. Much badness!!!!
